Sounds

Focus music, ticking, the alarm at the end of a session, and the sounds you rest to on a break.

Porotimer has four kinds of sound: music while you focus, a ticking clock, an alarm when a session ends, and a relaxing sound for breaks. Each one is optional, and each has its own volume.

  • Free + ProFocus sounds. Pick focus music, a ticking sound and an alarm. A few are free, the full set comes with Pro, and audio keeps playing when you leave the app.

Compare Free and Pro

Focus music

Tap Music under the timer to open the music sheet. Switch music on, pick a track from the grid, and set the volume. When no session is running, tapping a track plays a preview.

A track downloads the first time you play it and is kept on your phone after that, so it also plays offline. Tracks with a lock need Pro.

Ticking

Tap Ticking under the timer to hear the minutes pass.

Slow ticks at 60 BPM — one beat a second, like a wall clock. Fast ticks at 180 BPM. Slow suits long sessions; fast suits short, urgent ones. Slow is free, and Fast needs Pro.

Alarm

The alarm plays when a session ends. Choose it in the Sounds section of a Flow: Bell, Bird, Digital, Kitchen, Wood, Soft Chimes, or None. You can preview each one before you pick it. Bird is the default, and Bird and None are free; the others need Pro.

Music and ticking can be set in a Flow's Sounds section too, so each Flow can carry its own sound setup.

Break sounds

On the break screen, tap the sound name at the top to pick something to rest to:

Floating, Ocean, Forest, Seaside, River, Stream, Waves, Birds, Jungle and Tibetan Bowls.

Floating is free; the rest need Pro. You can also choose silence.

In the background

Your music, ticking and break sound keep playing when you leave Porotimer or lock your phone. If a phone call or Siri interrupts them, they start again when the interruption ends.

Sound only plays when you have chosen it. If you want a silent session, leave music and ticking off — several of the built-in Flow templates are silent by design.
