30 Minute Timer
Half an hour, start to finish.
30 Minute Timer ready. Press start to begin.
Each mark is one minute
Half an hour is the default meeting length, the standard oven interval, and roughly as long as most people can hold full attention on one task before the quality starts sliding. It is the unit calendars are actually built from.
What half an hour is good for
A meeting with an end
The length most meetings are booked at and few of them respect.
A long focus block
A pomodoro for people who find twenty-five minutes ends just as they arrive.
Cooking
The interval most things in an oven are measured against.
Exercise
A full session, warm-up included, that still fits in a lunch break.
Questions
Is half an hour too long for one task?
For most people it is right at the edge. If you find your attention drifting around minute twenty, a shorter block repeated is better than a longer one endured.
How many breaks should I take in an hour?
Two thirty-minute blocks with a short break between them works for most people, as does 25/5 twice. The break matters more than its exact placement.
Will it make a sound when it finishes?
Yes — an alarm rings when the countdown reaches zero. The countdown also turns red and the tab title changes to "Time's up", so the end is visible as well as audible.
Does the timer keep running if I switch tabs?
Yes. The countdown runs from a real timestamp rather than counting frames, so it stays accurate in a background tab, and the remaining time shows in the tab title.
The hard part isn’t the timer
This page counts down, and that is all it does. Porotimer handles the part that decides whether the session actually works.

Lock away what breaks focus
Choose the apps you're allowed for the session. Porotimer puts everything else behind a wall until the timer ends — which is the one thing a page in a browser tab can never do.
